And no Steve, its NOT off topic. One of the reasons Bolton was put where he is is to protect Israel's interests, whether they mesh with our own, or not. Anyone that separates the neo-con agenda from the Israeli agenda, is as detached from reality as Cheney's comments about "last throes" were. And the close relationship that Harry Reid, (and many other), top Democrats have with AIPAC should dispel any notions that there is really any major difference between the two parties when it comes to alliances and policy preferences.

And the "civil war" in Iraq??? It is by design, and is being nurtured and cultivated by both the U.S. and Israel to dismantle the Shiite's hold on power and sever the connection between Iran and Iraq's "leadership". The end result desired is a puppet regime that is no threat to Isreal, and will provide safe haven for our continued and escalating military presence in the Middle East. But first they gotta undo the total clusterfuck Bremer put together in his zeal to loot the Iraqi assets through privatization. The civil war serves that end.

I went to the ask Bolton a question gizmo at State. The page posts Bolton as the "Permanent Representative" to the United Nations. Wasn't Bolton a "recess" appointment by Bush? If Bolton is a "recess" appointment, why is State billing Bolton as permanent?

It's all about appearances. Just like Phase Two of the Senate Intelligence Commission report - Senator Roberts can't let it go 'cause it'll embarass the Republican party and will expose the Bush regime's lies to the rest of the world (not that the rest of the world doesn't know anyway).

And, just like not releasing Phase Two of that report prior to the last elections two years ago, ("...we don't want to influence the upcoming elections"), the Republican faction of that committee which is headed by Sen. Roberts, the Republicans can't afford "appearances" in the upcoming elections either.

The same with Bolton. Forget the truth, it's appearances that matter.

We have just learned that Cheney's hotel TV is always on Fox News. They have a real closed circuit operation working here, like a filtering system on a swimming pool, They put out the "word of the day," then heightened rapture, at the hotel that night they get repeat after repeat the "word of the day" on Fow News.
How often does each one get passed through the filter to get rid of all the bad news that is so polluting.
I thought they used Fox as a tool, now we learn they actually listen--that is amazing.
