Loyalty Oaths Redux: Wesley Clark Pokes Lieberman on Independent Senate Run

General Wesley Clark, who I have no doubt would be managing matters in the Middle East with far greater skill and attention than our incumbent President, made a blunt nudge at Senator Joe Lieberman on Friday.
Clark was blogging about the 2006 Elections on DailyKos. In response to a question about Senator Lieberman's run, he wrote:
I am a proud member of the Democratic Party, and I believe it is our party's responsibility to support the will of the Democratic primary voters in Connecticut. I personally look forward to supporting the candidate CT voters elect as the Democratic nominee.Though, as an aside, I must say I find it ironic that Senator Lieberman is now planning a potential run as an independent after he continually questioned my loyalty to the Democratic Party during the 2004 presidential primary.
Ouch!
It seems like Joe Lieberman was all for 'loyalty oaths' until he had to swear one himself.

Who we need is another Abraham Ribicoff for Connecticut, and Arthur Golberg as UN Ambassador to get matters back to where they should be!

"Loyalty oaths" are for the mafia and teenage gangs...I wouldn't swear loyalty to any political party.
May we stop calling him the "conscience of the Senate" now, please?

Well, seems to me that Clark has got a really good point there...although Party Loyalty in this day and age has a kind of scary ring to it...now that nobody mentions it.
Lieberman has become a Republican through and through....a true hypocrite, "do as I say and not as I do." Way to go General Clark!!! Please run in 2008. This country needs you.
