Today, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. eastern, Al Jazeera's star investigative journalist Yosri Fouda will be speaking about his views about the current struggle against terrorism, a potential split inside Al Qaeda leadership, and his view of American foreign policy.
I will be moderating the program.

Watching Yosri Fouda was such a great treat! Your moderating was superb; your audience seemed rapt; and I was listening and learning at an amazing pace. Mr. Fouda has an amazing capacity to stay on point. (I chuckled as he said he was unprepared). No Way. My hope is that some in the audience have the ear of decision makers in the administration, and can teach before this whole thing gets completely away from us. You are doing such good work by modeling being a good learner about the obscurities of the Middle East.

"Fouda implied that the kind of public diplomacy Karen Hughes was initiating at the State Department, though well intentioned, is not enough. America needs to rethink its "entire strategy with the Muslim world, particularly the Arab Muslim world, and initiate a new, serious, constructive approach."
KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE WERE TELLING US A FEW YEARS AGO THAT THAT'S WHAT WAS NEEDED. Why does it take us so long to "get it"?
I don't know whether it's our arrogance, tunnel vision or just plain stupidity. And because of that, we have spent and wasted needlessly our treasure - our precious sons and daughters- killed, wounded and maimed for life. A high price to pay for the "cowboy" attitude and "my way or the highway" attitude of this administration.
And P-U-L-E-A-S-E: Karen Hughes is the best qualified for this public diplomacy?
