Leopold Reports that Fitzgerald Close to Securing Indictment Against Rove

I have not been able to confirm a key point in this methodical and carefully ordered account by Jason Leopold of Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation of the Valerie Plame Wilson leak that states that the government investigator "is now preparing the paperwork to present a grand jury outlining the charges against Rove in hopes of securing an indictment."
TWN has previously reported that it was able to confirm the essential elements of a story that ran on March 27th that Rove had been actively cooperating with the Fitzgerald investigation and had helped the investigation acquire many previously unaccessed email communications from the Vice President's office.
One wonders how much leverage Rove was able to get in his case with Fitzgerald through his energetic cooperation, but Leopold's sources seem to be indicating that Rove is in Fitzgerald's sights again.
If I learn more, I'll be back with it but wanted people to know that this investigation continues to perk.

There's a typo in the link. Try this.
An indicitment for Rove. Dare I get my hopes up?
I guess before I get my hopes up, I should check my spelling. :) Indictment.
Steve -- The Leopold obviously story contradicts Larisa's story. He's been writing a variation of this story every two-three weeks for the last six months. What he does is takes commonly known information and extrapolates using qualifying weasel words that would put Bill Clinton to shame. Given the fact that he no longer writes for Raw Story and that these two articles happen to be posted at approximately the same time on the same day, leads me to believe that Leopold has once again has been exposed as the John Edwards of political news reporters.
Correction to above post: Make that that "John Edward" with no "s" ; )

check your facts. My story in now way contradicts Larisa's story. You assume that because Rove has cooperated that he was given blanket immunity. You are WRONG in your assumption. Therefore, it does not contradict Larisa's story. If you would take a few moments to educate yourself on the legal system you would find that someone can cooperate in exchange for a lesser charge. You could have figured that out by watching a single episode of Law and Order. Lastly, I don't write for Raw Story anymore because I now work for TruthOut. I have nothing but good things to say about Raw, Larisa and John. They are hardworking and I am grateful I had the opportunity to work with them. But I have no patience for knee-jerking people who make assumptions on individuals without having any facts.
I have been reporting the facts of this case as it unfolds. And the situation is fluid.

Jason - Larisa's story strongly suggests that some type of deal has been reached. Your story doesn't say anything about Rove cooperating. As you know, ##ANY## type of indictment is the death penalty for Rove because it will mean he will be Bush will be forced to fire him. So, while its possible, its not really reasonable that your story and Larisa's could both be true. One way to find out: let Steve verify your story. Do that and I will never question you again.
