It's Fun to Poke Tom DeLay

Chris Matthews and Tom DeLay had a tug back and forth on whether DeLay had called Dick Armey "drunk" or "blind" with ambition.

DeLay kept insisting through the show that his new book cites Armey as "blind with ambition" but Matthews pointed out to him that the book reads "drunk with ambition."

It's clear that DeLay had both fronts covered in his own ambition.

DeLay sounded drunk on the show. His speech was slurred. Granted I haven't heard the man speak before, and he may have a speech defect. Or it could be from his days as an exterminator.

Anyone know if he's been spending too much time at W's Bar & Grill lately?

Tom Delay is so fucking slimey that it defies the imagination. If there was ever an exclamation point to just how despicable Washington politics has become, Tom Delay is it.

Mr. " I don't have my glasses" Delay, did NOT write this book. He doesn't even know what it says and probably has never read it. I do however think he's read every number on the royality checks the loyal republicans lined his pockets with . buying this ghost written book. I wonder who did write it and if they just collected Tom's thoughts or what. Delay is unable to produce a book.....

It's good that DeLay gets all the publicity he does. Every time he's in the media, it reminds everyone what a petty, petty man he is. His references to Democrats as the "enemy", his personal hatred for President Clinton, his pursuit of political power to the exclusion of everything else. I'm amazed that someone as shallow, vindictive and small (not physically, but morally and ethically) became as powerful as he did.
