James Woolsey's Whereabouts

Woolsey's everywhere. Working hard to start a war with Iran -- and perhaps planning to make a lot of money off the conflict if things swing that way.

Jim Lobe notes that Jim Woolsey is doing cheerleading at the American Enterprise Institute on September 10 to help sell advance orders of "Freedom Scholar" Michael Ledeen's forthcoming new book, The Iranian Time Bomb: The Mullah Zealots' Quest for Destruction.

But to balance out the politics, Woolsey will be speaking Wednesday, 5 September on "The Terrorism Index" at the Center for American Progress at 9 am in a session with Paul Pillar, Steven Simon, Moises Naim, and John Podesta.

Why are folks letting Woolsey balance out the politics? What a tangled web.

Amazing. Off topic, but......

I subscribe to a number of ultra-conservative newsletters, (Gee, should I have admitted that? This clown MarkL will probably acuse me of being a neo-con now.).

I must got an email plugging for a CD called "Islam: What the West Needs to Know."

So, I'm browsing the usual fear mongering about the Koran that we all have read a thousand times since 9/11, and I came across the following statement....

"How Islam, unlike Christianity, flourished and spread primarily through conquest, not peaceful evangelism"

Now, I gotta ask you, does history tell us Christianity spread through "peaceful evangelism"?

What Twilight Zone are these people living in, anyway? Are there actually people out there that believe this kind of pure unmitigated horseshit?

(They're mostly toiling for the MSM as overpaid pundits and op-ed columnists, though many, many are employed by a cornucopia of right whing think tanks, themselves designed, assembled and programmed to suck every last breath of independence from every last consumer.

Good question!...why ARE freaks like Woolsey given a platform? I don't understand it.

I wish some patriot spooks would take my advice and whack this guy (and some others)...that is the only way evidently we will get rid of them. It will be too late if they get us into Iran...and that is definitely where they are headed.

Interesting....especially because I read soemthing by this same woman several years ago right after the Iraq invasion...I don't remember what site, I was doing a lot of surfing looking for reliable sources for various things and came across a article by her. VANCOUVER -- Hundreds at a raucous and hostile town hall Monday night let U.S. Rep. Brian Baird know that they disapprove of his support for the troop surge in Iraq. Many suggested the Vancouver Democrat is not representing the will of his district.

Baird said before the meeting that he expected a negative reception. And the crowd fulfilled those expectations.

The audience often interrupted Baird as he tried to calmly explain his decision to support a beefed-up presence of U.S. troops in the war-torn country. He said the United States has a moral obligation to help Iraq rebuild itself.

"We don't care what your convictions are," said Jan Lustig of Vancouver. "You're here to represent us."

Lustig added, "You're not representing us with this stance."

To that, Baird quietly replied, "I understand."

Karl Rove Wants American Ass

This one has been covered already by a few of our fellow bloggers, but it's almost too good to pass up.

Yesterday Wonkette reported that departing White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove was looking to get even with some students at American University who had the tenacity to show him their asses. See, back in April Rove gave a speech before the university's College Republicans, meeting with some feisty protestors as he made his way out. Those arrested were forced into 40 hours of community service, and that was that. But now arrest warrants have been issued by the Secret Service for the mooners. From the Culture Warrior:


On Friday, Gardner and the rest of the group were notified by AU’s Dean of Students that the Secret Service has issued warrants for their arrest. Details are scarce because nobody seems to know what the fuck is going on and we couldn’t get the Dean on the phone on a Sunday, but Gardner and presumably all the others are being charged with crossing a police line and disorderly conduct.

I'm no lawyer, but isn't there a statute of limitations on this type of stuff? And does Rove really need the Secret Service to issue the arrest warrants? Aren't there more pressing threats to the president, his staff, his family and the country to attend to?

The multi-national banking corporations and firsters have turned this country into a perpetual war economy, right? Peace really has no chance because, well, I suppose these b*st*rds can't make legitimate big money anywhere else.

Too bad I didn't have a cousin, Lenny, or a brother-in-law, Sheldon, who already know how to line up big fed contracts supplying the war machine with upcoming essentials like Alpine Shower Gel, Brave Face Lip Defender, and the new Skin Conditioning Cloth. Safe choices, no need to feel guilty, and why, my family could start justifying the war and a new war might bring us a real bonanza!

With the right chutzpah, we could all start making money! Go forward war machine, let's start counting the cash!
