Scooter Libby Pardon in the Works?
Share / Recommend - Comment - Print - Monday, Dec 10 2007, 12:33PM

I don't buy the argument that Scooter Libby has dropped his efforts at an appeal because of the time, hassle, and money involved in continuing the appeal. Although since presidential candidate Fred Thompson was one of those hosting fundraisers for Scooter's legal defense fund, perhaps the distractions of the presidential race have taken a toll.
But I do wonder whether Scooter Libby has been informed that a pardon is in the works. It would not surprise me if it was the case.

And, if Bush doesn't pardon him, then the weak kneed Democrats will take this up.
Interesting signs of how strongman Bush has eroded the status of the once great US:

If Libby gets a pardon, we in the online community should make damn sure that he is **permanently** featured in some sort of Internet Hall of Shame.
Gads, are you kidding me??? Where's the question?
Of course Libby is going to be pardoned. We wouldn't want any of these damned criminals to be held accountable now, would we? It would be astounding to see Libby held accountable for an offence akin to jaywalking, (comparatively), when people such as Cheney, that should be hung for treason, get off scot free.
Hell, lets just give the whole slimey slithering mass of 'em Presidential Medals of Freedom.
bringing up libbys name arouses disgust to many folks.. if a political leader can overturn the decision of a judicial court for personal reasons (apparantly the reasons don't have to be cited when you are a president of the usa, lol) then you know you are looking at a tinpot/banana republic at work..
This a dumb question, I'm pretty sure.
If Libby is pardoned, does he lose his 5th amendment privilege against self-incrimination -- for the specific events involved, of course?
Libby - crimes against democracy
Vick - crimes against humanity
degustibus, they are both dirty dogs imo.
And it's probably more than conjecture that AIPAC has already put in their word at the WH for the pardon. No need for Libby lawyers to run up the bill when bush will just pardon him for nothing.
What's a good friend for, anyway, in these days of world terror?
Libby zip for what seemed to many to be treason. Vicks, 23 months for dogfighting.
