The Wall Street Journal is running an interesting piece on Alexandre Albuquerque, the Chairman of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf. Worth a read for anyone interested in just part of what's at stake in the Law of the Sea ratification debate.

Good article in the "Oregonian" yesterday. At a meeting with civilians at a downtown hotel in Portland Admiral John Morgan was heavily applauded when he endorsed US ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty. Morgan was there with other Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officers to promote soft power and stress war prevention, humanitarian assistance, and international cooperation.

Sorry I cannot find a link. I read it in the print version.
