Chelsea Clinton, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, and director Rob Reiner did a Philadelphia "gay bar pub crawl" Friday night until well past 1:00 a.m. on behalf of Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Novel idea. This is true retail politics -- between 8-10% of the population, and gay Americans vote.
Not sure the Obama team has done this. Barack has affinity groups though many of the social networking sites -- but I haven't seen anything yet at gay.com or manhunt.net.

I'm pretty sure campaigning on manhunt would result in more negative publicity than positive voter contacts. Can you imagine Fox News tearing into that one?
Though I gotta say, if Barack Obama sent me a wink on manhunt... well, he already had my vote, and my donations, but his campaign would have my undying admiration at that point. I would be impressed forever.
Minor points: I think gays will be clocking in at 6-7% of the population when all is said and done, though I suppose I could be underestimating the closet even still. And, the article says that Rendell has been campaigning in gay bars since *1977*. That's pretty cool.

Obama events on Manhunt? LOL!
JoeChi -- i'm not good at glib stuff....but my main point is that I think it's cool that Chelsea was lobbying gay folks in the bars in Philly with Ed Rendell. I actually do think that Obama is probably just as good in this line of voter development. But it was a chance for off color humor. ;-)

GWMs are pretty notorious for their racial bias. Just check out the specs on those types of sites.
Steve, you'll never find Senator Obama (or his supporters) at a gay pub crawl. The Senator has nothing aganist gay people, it's the pubs he doesn't like.
Now a gay wine bar crawl or a gay Starbucks crawl; Senator Obama would be there in a flash!

seem to have anything to do with Obama.
