Baghdad Lessons? Police Raiding Homes in St. Paul

Share / Recommend - Comment - Print - Saturday, Aug 30 2008, 4:27PM

Heavily armed police teams in groups of 20 or 30 are raiding private homes in St. Paul. According to one woman who spoke to FireDogLake's Lindsay Beyerstein, asking to see a warrant gets one immediately "detained."

Jane Hamsher and Glenn Greenwald dropped in on a raided St. Paul home shortly after the cops descended.

This is not the Republican Party my family -- dispersed around Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas -- supported. This has become an Orwellian Big Brother party.

Spying, illegal search and seizure, the indiscriminate suspension of personal rights and civil liberties -- this is what the Republicans always feared that the Dems would do in building ever larger governments whose power would become unmanageable and unstoppable.

But the Republicans have built and animated the party that they once feared and used to rail against.

I'll have to see if I get detained for the stuff I write here. I know I won't actually -- but the high fear tilt is clearly moving in an even worse direction.

Now let's see MSM carry the story. Ha ha.

All those years we were called silly for, first, fearing the rise of a fascist Republican machine, then being hysterical overreachers when noting the evidence. FISA, Patriot Act. Guantanamo. DOJ scandal. 911! 911!

Ben Franklin continues to have the corner on the dangers of surrendering liberty for "security". Fact is, many of us NEVER surrendered. But many did share in it complicitly. Shame on all who took the easy road. Patriots. Heroes all. Disgusting.

And Obama didn't address this stuff on Thursday. Why not? Is this something he can't touch until he gets in office? It's funny that cops are one of the few Republican heavy professions that are heavily unionized.

What does the Republican Party have to do with any of this? It was the St. Paul police!! The Mayor of St. Paul is a batcrap crazy Moonbat DFL'er, and I think he has more control over his police force than KKKarl Rove.

I was just watching this video on Glens site, and am proud of you having the courage to post on this truly creepy development on TWN.

This is terrifying example of the Amerika the fascists in the Bush government are erecting.

They said that the Bush government spiriting 140 Saudi nationals including bin Laden family members around and eventually out of the country in the darkest hours and days immediately following 9/11 when every AMERICA was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it is true.

They said there were no war games exactly mirroring the 9/11 attacks directed by Azmodeous - I mean Cheney on the morning of 9/11 and that these claims were a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it was true.

They said that the Bush government unwarranted spying on AMERICA's without due process or probable cause was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it was true.

They said the perverted torture techniques at Gitmo, Abu Gharaib, and Bagram were the work of a few bad apples and that the suggestion that the highest levels of the Bush government were directly involved was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it was true.

They said that the Bush government OSP concocted justifications for attacking and occupying Iraq and intentionally decieving the America people by mass marketing propaganda, disinformation, and patent lies was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it is true.

They said the Bush governments bloody, costly, horrorshow and excuse for wanton profiteering Iraq was not "about the oil" and that suggestions to the contrary were conspiracy theories. But O'Niel, Greenspan, and mountains of well documented evidence proved it is true.

They said the Department of Homeland Security erecting detention centers around the country were conspiracy theories. But the departments own website proves it's true.

They said that suggestions that the revenge outing of Valerie Plame and Brewster Jennings & Associates involved the VP's office and the highest levels of the Bush government was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony and Patrick Fitzgerald proved it was true.

They say now that the suggestion that the fascists in Bush government would manipulate a dustup in Iran or maybe Georgia now, or another 9/11likeevent to utilize The National Defense Authorization Act to declare martial law, http://www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/articles/2-bush-moves-toward-martial-law/ suspend the elections and finalize the neocon designs to erect a fascist totalitarian dictatorship in Amerika is a conspiracy theory. But.........

Forgive the double post, but for clarity in my third paragraph I meant to say:

(They said that the Bush government spiriting 140 Saudi nationals including bin Laden family members around and eventually out of the country in the darkest hours and days immediately following 9/11 when every {AMERICAN was grounded} was a conspiracy theory. But congressional testimony proved it is true.

A lawyer named Marwa Elzankaly just won a major victory in
regards to the No-Fly list in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Until the government files an appeal (within the next 30 days or
so), any person who is on the No-Fly list or the "Special
Screenin" list can have their day in court and challenge the
government to prove that they are a "terrorist."

Has the press covered this incredibly important ruling? Hardly.

But here's an article on it:

http://tinyurl.com/5rwnqd

I say anyone pulled over for "special screening" or on the No-
FLy list flood the courts across America in the next 30 days
(during the wind of opportunity), demanding that the
government prove that they are a "terrorist."

Hey John Wayne, lets discuss this in the manner that you think a real John Wayne alias Marion Michael Morrison would choose! From someone who actually served.
