The Mavrick TWN.jpg

Reader of The Washington Note -- Julianne -- also caught this pic while watching the Republican National Convention last night. This follows her other "get" of Keeping Ameirca Strong.

Do you think that these are really accidents -- or was this done on purpose? (. . .not to paraphrase Jack Nicholson)

I read that the coverage showed that image while McCain was mentioning adult illiteracy. I guess some in the audience felt an example was necessary to pump up the message.

Posted by DonS, Sep 05 2008, 12:07PM - Link

That was the context.

By the way, not a whole lot of mention of the protesters who were removed from the auditorium. Including the one who got a brief flash on TV with a very good sign saying "McCain votes against vets"

Looks like the RNC stasi aren't up to snuff. I'm sure they'll practice more.

. . . I was viewing on public television (my rabbit ears only get a couple of channels!). Was there a different feed going out to other networks?

If the person holding the "Mavrick" sign were doing it to exemplify McCain's point about adult illiteracy, he would have had to have seen an advance copy of McCain's speech. Moreover, it would have had to have been coordinated with the media to ensure that they got a shot of it at just the right time. Face it, it was just a dufus who can't spell.

Look, if you work in a job (like I do) that brings a lot of original writing across your desk, you'd know that many people can't spell, punctuate, or construct a grammatically correct sentence to save their life. I'm not excusing it, in fact I think it's embarassing.

That guy can't spell. He's an idiot.

Typical Lib tactic. Blow this out of proportion, but give BHO a pass
on his "57 states". If this is all it takes to sway your vote, then you
should stay home on election day.

He did not spell Mavrick wrong that is my name and I take great offense to anybody who says that Mavrick is spelled wrong.
