This is a surprisingly moving and interesting video featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Snoop Dogg, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Justin Timberlake, along with Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat, Zach Braff, Colin Farrell, Neil Patrick Harris, Scarlett Johansson, Shia LeBeouf, Tobey Maguire, Ryan Reynolds, and Jason Segal.

Most of you who read this blog probably don't need encouragement to vote -- but send this to those on the fence who don't quite get how consequential this election is.

Thanks for this Steve!

My mom is a Florida Dem; she can only stand for about ten minutes at a time; she's in nearly constant pain at this point; everything that a body needs to do is harder on her than ever. SHE'S VOTING!

This one is better than the last one (Something about Halle Berry looking at you with shaming, puppy eyes and saying "I've you're like ME and you've already registered . ." is a turnoff.), but I still think this belongs to the old-school Get Out The Vote, Moveon.org tactics that just don't work. This is a herd of people making millions of dollars per year in liberal Hollywood (and before anyone gets huffy, I'M a dyed-in-the-wool liberal). Hearing a lecture, however well-spliced and funny, from celebrities doesn't appeal to most Americans, I'd daresay. There are reasons that people don't vote other than that they're lazy, stupid ingrates. What if you live in Idaho, or Illinois, which area going by huge margins to one candidate or the other? What if you really, really don't like both candidates? What if you work a triple shift on Tuesdays? What if you have honest political beliefs (misguided or not) that your vote doesn't matter?

I think everyone should vote, too. I cast mine a week ago. But this whole tone of "vote or you're clearly a fool" thing doesn't make sense to me anymore. Maybe bring up Iraq's historic vote or Burma's suppression of democracy and how lucky we are, or SOMETHING. Make the case for voting. Don't assume you're right and bludgeon people. And get a few more convincing conservative-sounding remarks in there to balance it--much as we disagree with the gaybashers, it would help to have a foil to Doogie Howser if you really wanna make this thing sound nonpartisan. Just sayin.

you have to be pretty fucking dumb to vote. no matter what anyone says, your one vote will never make a difference.

I am so tired of peoples comments about weather or not we should vote. While yes some don't vote because of obvious inbreeding problems but some don't vote for a bigger reason and wish people would rethink the democratic proccess. The system has become so corrupt that voting has lost it's meaning. Do you think if we all stoped voting there would be a total meltdown. I think not. I don't think they would even notice. So while as an american I think it is important to stand up and be counted but it is also an american right to stand back and watch the circus unfold at a safe distance.

If anyone really needs movie stars and rappers to get them to vote they should not waste the time. Unfortunately this is what is really wrong with this country: people are so easily influenced by the "star power" and the television media headlines they have no idea who they are really voing for.

How many people really research the candidates backgrounds and political history? And not just what you are TOLD to be the truth on TV and in the papers!!! With the internet today you can actually check senate records, proposed bills, third party candidates, etc...

But no. Most of the people out there are voting on the "star power" of Obama, voting for a color of a person skin/ or against a persons color, or strictly against McCain because of his party affiliation and/or his age - what a shame and how pathetic that too many people of this country are so close-minded and shallow.

I'm glad to hear that it's ok not to vote.
Try it, you'll like it.

It took me 75 years to realize what a waste of time when there are only two imbedded political parties.

It is fun however observing the divisive, pseudo intellectual righteousness of the participants.
