Preparing for the Debate: At the Bar in Vienna

TWN contributor Brian Till may be 'on the ground in St. Louis', but I'm at a bar in Vienna, Austria -- and am planning to stay up until 3 am here (I know. . .the 3 am call. . .) to watch live the vice presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

I don't know if I will live blog it. We'll see. Don't harangue me for typos if I do.

TWN contributor and business leader concerned about the Iraq War Richard Vague is also at the debate tonight and has promised to text me impressions of what he hears and sees.

More soon.

What bar, Steve? Personally, I like to settle in to the old-style
viennese coffee houses (actually, taking the trolley out to wine
country is even better). Have you climbed to the top of St. Stephens
yet?

3 am in Vienna is just the beginning of the night!

I find it funny how Viennese locals will pull up a chair and sit at your table without invitation. My wife: "Can I help you?" LOL

Greetings from Not Vienna, Steve!

Why live blog it? Anyone reading this blog will probably be
looking at the debate... and your comment system really doesn't
enable the sort of realtime interaction that a site like DailyKos
does. So I say, don't bother.

Actually, the timing of the debate is quite convenient here in Tokyo, where I am this week -- 10 AM.

Vienna is a much more fun city, though...

Sarah Palin's first answer: "Fear .. . fear, fear .. .. fearfearfear!"

Running against crooks on Wall Street.

"Never again will we be taken advantage of."
