Begich Now Has 3-Vote Lead over Alaska's Ted Stevens

Share / Recommend - Comment - Print - Wednesday, Nov 12 2008, 8:29PM

A 3 vote difference with 10,000 votes left to process. . .but hey, if it keeps Sarah Palin from the Senate. . .

This is the latest in this nail-biter Senate race:

The elections division still has over 10,000 ballots left to count today and thousands more through next week, but the latest numbers show Mark Begich leading Sen. Ted Stevens 125,019 to 125,016.

-- Steve Clemons

Update: There are actually 47,000 votes left to count. 10,000 of those will be left to count tonight -- leaving a balance of 37,000 that need to be counted before November 19th.

It is quite telling that the circumstances surrounding the construction of Palin's house closely parallel the circumstances that turned Ted Stevens into a convicted felon.

Why is Palin getting a free ride on this?

AM radio still delivering........

Inga Barks;

"The Klu Klux Clan is a left wing organization"

Michael Weiner (AKA Michael Savage);

"The timely, suspicious, and unexpected death of Obama's grandmother....."

(Not a direct quote, but close. The intent? It was an implication that Obama's grandmother was killed because she knew he was born in Kenya, and could not legally be elected to the Presidency.)

Every American should listen to at least one AM broadcast weekly from the myriad of scumsucking pieces of shit that comprise the RW talk radio wing of the GOP. It would at least wise them up to the fact that the GOP has resorted to reaching out to the absolute DUMBEST people in our population. The fact that one GOP convicted felon's demise could open the door to an ignorant vindictive bumpkin's entry into the Senate is truly a sad commentary about the collective intelligence of the right wing base. Are these people retarded?

Gads. The story at the above NYTimes link scares the shit outta me. The more I see, the more I am convinced that Obama is everything I feared he was.

This guy is NOT going to roll back any of Bush's executive empowerments, nor will he seek accountability for the crimes of the last eight years. When Obama said that Bush had not abused his power to a degree that warranted impeachment, we knew all we needed to know about Obama.

Change, my ass.

As to the vetting -- and here I thought I had mostly the FBI to fear snooping in my electronic communications -- whatever someone reveals or chooses not to is only as good as the micromanagers are willing to verify. What's not shared will likely remain that way. Are polygraphs a part of the process at some level? Gawd.
