Oakley on the China Trip

Oakley the Amazing Weimaraner polk-a-dots.jpg

Oakley the Amazing Weimaraner gives me this look when he's had it.

"China, China, China. . . All you talk about is China. Enough." (in Weimaranerese of course)

On the other hand, he didn't think that the fashionable Camp Doha-inspired reflector collars (suggested by regular reader POA) were such a bad idea.

I'm off to Tokyo tomorrow.

I believe "weimaranerese" is otherwise known as German... What a nice travel companion!

would be a real challenge.....but wanted to post something fun
about the pup. all best, steve

Steve, since you're going to Tokyo, any information on improving China-Japan ties would be interesting.

Incidentally, thinking of saying "China, China, China," the Chinese characters for their country (romanized) are Tsung-kuo, or central kingdom. In other words the Chinese look at the world sort of the same way we Americans do, outward. (Of course they've been doing it for five thousand years and we, for two hundred, so they do have a slight lead on us.)

It is in this sense, with the current thaw between China and Taiwan, that Japan becomes interesting. Will Japan continue to be a satellite of the US, or will it veer more toward China? That would be major.

I'll wager Oakley's laying on a "made in China" blanket, cover or whatever.

Has the world gone to the dogs in China?

Oakley seems resigned it's so.

Oakley's no dummy. He stayed home because they eat dogs in China.
