Bill Clinton Hospitalized

Bill Clinton has been hospitalized, according to a blitz of news alerts moments ago.

We hope that he will be OK and recover quickly. The world and America are not done with him, not to mention all of his current responsibilities in helping to generate massive aid for Haiti.

President Obama is still greatly appreciated and admired around the world -- but the two places on the globe where Clinton is loved more than Obama and where the President should consider applying the unique skills of Bill Clinton are in North Korea and Israel/Palestine matters.

Hopefully, this is relatively minor, but hospitalizations nowadays are never minor it seems.

Looks like Clinton had an angioplasty. Two stents placed in the left anterior descending artery. It's a routine procedure today and God willing; he will be fine; probably better than fine. That's what we're praying for anyway.

Your suggestion of using Clinton to help resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict is a good one. I don't know how the Palestinians would react. But despite Clinton's problemmatic relationship with Netanyahu; Israelis trust him (they don't trust Obama).

And it would help Obama politically; Clinton is enormously popular in the Jewish community. Some people say that Clinton was the "first black president." I know alot of people who think he was the "first Jewish president."

Clinton could get the American Jewish community to accept compromises that Obama could never get them to accept.

Good suggestions. I risk being optimistic here, but I think there is a window of opportunity with both of these countries at the moment, and Clinton's considerable skills should not be wasted, providing he is healthy enough to serve.
We will see.

Best wishes with you, Bill. There is a deficit of statesmanship in the body poltic at this time. There are things Obama probably cannot afford to say for the sake of expediency or political levity. Bill Clinton can say those things, and should say them, especially in light of these health issues.

The times we face mortality are times when mankind must speak truth to power.
